how do I adjust calorie goal

how do I adjust calorie goal

  • how do I adjust calorie goal

    By changing the weight goal

  • By adjusting my weight goal by as little as 5 pounds the calorie goal will swing by 750 calories. and then it swings back and forth when I tried to fine tune it up and down by +/-750 calories. I've been fussing with this for a long time it's pretty obvious it doesn't work this is a major shortcoming in the Garmin connect software. Do you have any other advice?

Try MyFintessPal. I think you can fine tune the goal there better.

  • MyFintessPal also does not work. Garmin syncs with it then revers to  random calorie goal later. This really should not be this hard, cant the calorie goal in garmin just be directly manually set? This software has been out for years how has garmin not addressed this yet?

I think you either do something wrong, or look at wrong values. I just tested it, and the value of the Daily Goal on the page Calories In/Out matches exactly the value in the field Daily Nutrition Goals » Calories at MFP, and changes anytime I change it at MFP and sync MFP with GC.

You are perhaps looking at the Adjusted Daily Goal instead of the Daily Goal. The Adjusted DG adds Active Calories to the Daily Goal, because the Daily Goal only covers the basic nutritional needs of your body at rest, so the active calories are added to it, so that you know how many more Calories you should consume to cover the extra burn.
