Input steps manually in secure facilities

I recently started working in a facility that does not allow any personal items with recording or transmitting abilities (such as a Garmin smart watch). I have been wearing Garmin watches since 2007, and have thoroughly enjoyed the metrics I get from using them. But now most of waking day is spent without my watch, so stress, steps, and heartrate metrics are certainly skewed. The funny things is, the company I work for, does give benefits for those who track their steps and fitness. Is there zero chance to maybe use a non-wireless pedometer that a picture of the step quantity could b uploaded on a daily basis? I read the answer for others' questions, but i thought that maybe adding a picture of the pedometers display would maybe be enough to certify the steps. Just an idea.

  • Seems kinda silly to not allow a fitness tracker as the only thing they record is biometric data. Most of them can't record audio or take photos or video. Not allowing phones in a secure facility makes sense.

Not a good one, I am afraid. Do you really believe Garmin would pay a new army of employees who would process photos of pedometers and adding the steps to the accounts manually?

You better turn off bluetooth on your watch while at work - that could perhaps fulfill the requirement for non-wireless devices.

Alternatively you could perhaps find a really old Garmin device that did not yet have any BT, and had to be synced over the cable. I beleive there were some.
