Inconsistent syncing of calories from MyFitnessPal

MFP has no problems getting information from my Garmin device fairly quickly. But Garmin Connect doesn't show the calories I've entered in MFP reliably. Sometimes they show up right away. Sometimes it takes hours. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all. For instance, on the 8th I only ever got the breakfast and lunch calories. Same thing happened on the 9th. Today, as of 5:30, only breakfast has come through.

Is there someway to force Garmin Connect to recognize all the calories I've entered in MFP?

  • In Garmin Connect Web, go to Health Stats » Calories In/Out, and click the link Sync Now.

Thanks, trux. That worked like a charm. I had to go back and hit the link for each day, but now every day is correct. I kept looking for a specific sync button or function on my phone for the calories but that didn't work, nor did the general sync button.

I wonder why it's balky sometimes? Oh well, I got a fix now. Thanks again!

No, idea why it does not work. I do not use MFP much since a longer time, but it worked reliably and automatically then. It could be also an issue on MFP's side.

Yeah, it synced fine for a few days. One day it didn't. Then I had a run of two weeks without a problem. Followed by three days it didn't work. *shrug*

In researching this issue, it seems like tracking can be an issue for folks, but then it goes away. Mostly.

I first approached MFP support. They said it was a Garmin problem. But now I can get it to work, so the source of the problem is irrelevant, I suppose.
