The days calories

My questions is why is there a difference at the end of the day on my calorie count?

The exact same day of activities but one day when i ran i started the run on the watch and the other day i ran i didnt account for the run on the watch.

At the end of the day shouldn't the calories be the same if you are doing the same activities?

Is it because of the monitor of the heart rate being constant when you are running and only checking heart rate every so many minutes when your not activating the activity part of the watch?

  • At the end of the day shouldn't the calories be the same if you are doing the same activities?

No, the Active Calories are depending on the heart-rate during the day, and it may differ from day to day, and may differ even if you do identical workouts.

the mystery is the using and not using the activity button and accounting for your activity.  i realize there will be a difference each day but there is a big difference if you do or do not use the activity button and you do the exact same day of activities and you use the exact same measure of effort  ive tested it out and it appears the watch is very generous when you account for your activities as opposed to doing the activity and not using the watch opt start and stop for that activity.

  • It could be just a coincidence, or it could be perhaps due to the much higher HR sampling rate during the recorded activities. You'd need to compare the HR and Stress graphs for given periods to tell better.
