Sync issues from Garmin Connect to devices (source: TrainingPeaks)

Structured workouts from TrainingPeaks synch to Garmin Connect but fail to sync from 'Connect' to the device itself (FR935 watch). This is happeing to many memebers of my team. Does anyone know of a solution? (It seems to be Garmin related, as the workouts from TP appear in connect and sync with other applications with no problem).

TP --> Garmin Connect (seems to be OK) --> Devices (not synching well - some workouts pass some don't [Running/Cycling - all have worked in the past]

While same workouts from TP --> sync to other 3rd part apps such as Zwift perfectly.

Activating/Reactivtaing connection between TP and Garmin Connect didn't help.

  • Thanks. But these workouts used to sync perferctly to the watch. We are talking about basic running and cycling workouts.

    This is not just my watch, but many people in my team (and other) all have various models of Garmin wathces and facing the same issue.

    You just wrote that the transfer from TP to Garmin Connect works fine, so reactivaitng the connection between the two cannot help. The problem is apparently with the transfer GC » watch. Check out the Device Sync Audit in GC Menu » Settings, and also delete old workuts from the folder //GARMIN/Workouts. There is only limited number of workouts that can be uploaded. Also clean up the folder //GARMIN/Activity/ to make up some more room., for the case the space (and not only the number of workouts) is a problem too. If it all does not help try scheduling or reswcheduling one of the workout you want to transfer, and sync again.

    This is why the problem seems to be in the way the workouts are saved in GC after being synced from TP. 

    Something has gone wrong with this connection - probably resulting in corruptions to the files been saved in GC which prevents it from being successfuly sunc to the devices.

    Did some cheking - allot of people are facing the same issue. This is why I was wondering if anyone has heared of a work around or somethine else.

    Does not look like a problem of connection to me, if you tell you can sync standard workouts from GC to the watch. More likely the TP workout contains some commands, steps, or structures not compatible with the specific device.

  • It is happening to me from just Edge 530 normal rides. Started sometime between 11/28 & 12/3. Training load/status keeps going down for Forerunner 645 while going up on Edge. Have not found solution yet -
