Slower / faster map overlay

How can I permanently turn off the 'slower-faster' overlay on the map of my run? I know I can turn it off while looking at it but the next time I go back to my run it's there again.

You cannot (unless you can code in JavaScript and know how to use local overrides in browser's DevTools)

That's disappointing. I can see from my km times how my pace varies. I just want the map to show me the route!

I do not see a problem. It still does show the route in the same way - the route does not change with the colors. Anyway, as I wrote, there is no way to change it (without hacking the JS code), but you can suggest it to Garmin through the form at Submitting an Idea to Garmin

Thanks for taking the time to respond and i understand that it can't be turned off. It seems like a gimmick to me and makes the map line much fatter so less clear. If it continues to bother me I will suggest to Garmin that turning it off should be an option.
