Training Status

Several months ago I switched out my old Garmin forerunner 935 for a Garmin Fenix 6.  When I did this I noticed that my training status not only went down but the Fenix no longer uses treadmill runs, biking, or walks to calculate training status.  My forerunner did.  How can this be fixed?  Is there a way to utilize ALL of my activities to get a more reliable calculation?

I'd tell they abandonned it just because it was not reliable. The recent calculation uses more precise measurments and calculations, based on the HR Variability, but it needs data from well studied activity types. So polluting it with some random numbers in the old style, based only on the HR, would undermine the current method.

If you want to use Training Effect based only on the HR alone (without the advanced HRV technology), then you can connect a 3rd party service to GC, and have it calculated there. I think Runtastic offers it, or perhaps even Strava, and probably many others.
