Corrupt Fit File - Garmin Coach Workout

ezyzip-Nov16EasyRun-5.12Miles.zipI did a garmin coach workout tonight. The distance of my run today should be 5.12 miles, 48:58 minutes. avg pace 9:34 MM.

I tried to fix with fit file tools, then tried to import to garmin connect and got this message: "One of your files was not accepted by the system. Please contact Support for assistance." This is for a garmin workout I did with my two week old garmin venu sq.

Under history, my run started at 5:15pm, but when I tapped my watch for details, the time stamp was recorded as 1:28am with 0 data.

At one point, I tried one of the tools under fit file tools and only 3.65 miles or 34:21 minutes of my activity was recorded. I tried to use the Garmin online fit repair tool first, but got message:

"Upload status: The file could not be uploaded. The following error occured: Unexpected end of file while parsing Name has occurred. Line 151558, position 9.

You can manualy edit the txt file and upload this file below to convert this back to .fit file. With manual edit you can correct

Remove data record to correct starttime / endtime
Remove data corruption
For advanced users: Change all values"

Please help.

I just bought my new Venu Sq watch a few weeks ago and I hope it's not defective. It's supposed to be new.

Can you zip the fit file and insert it into your post? We will take a look at it to see if it is repairable.

What Garmin did you use?

I have a new Garmin Venu Sq. I got in October, it was working fine until now. The garmin workout finished, but I wanted to keep on going so I just pressed the start button as always.

Repaired using FFRT. Just like your attempt, I'm only getting 3.66 miles from your file, since the recording ended abruptly and without the expected summary records. Is it possible that the remaining 1.46 miles is on the watch as a separate activity?

Thank you. I got the same thing. I edited my original note above to explain the error messages I got with the Garmin Online Repair tool. Did you get those messages as well?

I hope it's not the watch. I know I had the data beyond mile 4.

I forgot that I had to stop for a while and kept stopping and starting bc the back of my knee was hurting, so that may have been it.

If you've run this exact course before (and who hasn't ), can you attach that FIT file here? Might be able to use it to add the remaining bits.

Also did you use FIT File Tools, or Fit File Repair Tool?

Thank you. I just rescheduled the workout, so I can observe if I get the same errors. I wasn't pressing the start stop button until later after the 40 minutes:

I had a 5 min warm up, then ran 20 minutes at a specific pace, then 10 minutes back, then 5 minute cool down.I finished it all to make at least 40 minutes, but I don't know what happened to my watch.
