True, icons check only for width of a box and resize accordingly.
But If height of a box is too low, then icons won't resize.
It's the same if you change browser's zoom using CTRL and -
My screen display 3840 x 2160, I've resized the picture to send here... I'm not zooming anything. The icons become to big when the width is larger than 1080
