The Garmin Connect App provides connection capability with the HRM-PRO with a drop down menu. I doesn't have the HRM-Dual as an option. How do I connect it.

I just bought an HRM-Dual heart monitor. I opened Garmin connect app on my iPhone and selected add a device. The Garmin menu showed "select a device" and I went through them all and found the HRM-Pro but no other heart monitor.  I tried the HRM-Pro but it would not connect to my HRM-Dual.  I selected "Don't see your device" and it stated to go to garminconnect.com/ and add the device on my Garmin Connect account.  I did that and could not find a way to connect it. Help!

  • You can't connect a HRM-Dual to the mobile app.

  • You can connect the HRM-Dual chest strap to your Garmin watch (or other device) which will use it to get your heart rate data during your activity. You do not connect the HRM-Dual directly to the app. Your watch/device will provide the update to the app.

This is what is says on Amazon. "Real-time heart rate data is sent to  compatible Garmin GPS wearables,  bike computers, and online training apps."
Who in the right might would think that "apps" does not include a Garmin app. And too late to return this POS now. No, I am not using MyFitnessPal either, UnderArmour is garbage. *** all of you assholes! *** Garmin crap!

  • Garmin Connect is not a tracking app so it would be pointless to connect that chest strap to the app. You will have to use any other tracking app that supports heart rate from a bluetooth connected chest strap. I would use Strava.

HRM-Pro is an activity tracking device on its own like a watch and can therefore upload data to Garmin Connect, but it will miss a lot of data that it can't track. It is better to just connect HRM-Pro to a Garmin device or use it together with any other tracking app.
