Double entries from different devices

Hello,

I do own and use two different devices to record my activities.
Fenix 5 and Edge 510

My main device is my GArmin Fenix 5. As I like the metrics better.

However, when I am cycling I also use my Garmin Edge 510 as it provides me better visibility while cycling.

Although I have set my Edge 510 to not automatically upload anything to Garmin connect it sometimes does regardless. Especially I.e. when I connected to Garmin express for software updates.

That always gives me double entries for all my activities I have recorded at the same time on the Fenix 5 and the Edge 510. Sometimes multiple months back. This is pretty annoying. How can I avoid that.

Also, is there anyway that I could sort my activities on the Garmin connect webpage per the devices it has been recorded/uploaded. With that it would be easier to delete duplicates.

It's been discussed before, and the easiest way is not to save the activity on the Edge - once you have you activity on the Fenix secured, discard the activity on the Edge.

Thank you.

IMO that is only a workaround not a real solution.

What about my second question?

If I could sort my activities in Garmin connect by the devices they have been uploaded, deleting duplicates would be a breeze and that flaw would not be so annoying.
Any ideas?

Users on this forum can give you only availble solutions. Apparently there is no "real solution" available, but you are free to take it or leave it

What about my second question?

There are several different ways to do it. The simplest possiblity is adding a custom column to the cycling activities (see the small Setting symbol at the extrem right of the table header line), and sorting the activites by a field that is available at Edge, and not available at Fenix (perhaps some of Power fields?).

Another possibility is looking at the JSON code, where you can separate the records by the DeviceID in each set. You get the code with the following URL:

You can also inject some Javascript code into the console of the browser, and have it filtered automatically. User BunBun! described how to do it in the thread Filter Activities by Device
