October Ride to 400 Badge

I have joined the October Ride to 400 challenge in order to acquire the badge and points.  And, I am wondering is there a way to determine if I can do some of those kilometers on an indoor trainer somehow?  It is getting cooler and I'll probably be doing more indoor training instead of actual road training.

Thank you in advance for any information/help with this,

Chris Simmons

  • It works on an indoor trainer. I've tested. The description says just "cycling activities" so any cycling activities will work.

I came looking for the same answer.  I just started riding a Peloton and having to manually sync my activities.  They show up, but no mileage/kilometers are being tracked on the badge :(

  • Any cycling activities will do, including indoor trainer rides, as long as they are registered by a garmin device. If an activity is imported from an external app, then it won't count towards a challenge badge.

  • The activities must be logged with a Garmin device to count for the badges. There are some exceptions to that rule but they are few.

Thats what it seems.  It counts towards badges but not challenge badges.

  • you have to record it with garmin device and if needed later edit garmin activity to adjust say .... distance, average speed, average power, average rpm,......

at least above has worked for me september and august, recorded with fenix6- indoor ride and later added above info from nautilus trainer (i have a nautilus u628 ergometer)

Hmmm, maybe next time I will try starting my watch for the activity and then importing the data from the Peloton.  However, I think I am just going to end up with a Bike Ride with 0 Miles and another Indoor Cycling with X Miles.
