convert laps to km?

During a recent marathon, I was hitting the lap button every time I completed a loop of the park (roughly 1.8 km) because I wanted to be sure that I was keeping to even splits for each lap of the park.

I'd like to view the activity now not by the laps, but by straight distance (eg. each "lap" is a km and not have one at 1km and the next at .82, etc).

Is there a way to view the raw distance and not through the laps caused by pressing the lap button?

  • A FIT file editor will do it. Removing the current laps, then create laps at each km. There may be some free online tools. Alternatively, if you can zip the FIT file and post it here, we can take a look at it.

Thanks very much! Will have a go myself and get back to you if I can't work it out... would be good to know how to do it for myself for the future!

  • You can also set the auto-lap feature to whatever distance you wish (i.e. 1km), and you won't need to press any buttons. I mean before doing the run, in the settings of the Run Activity profile, on the watch. Or oppositely, you can suppress them, if you wish just the manual laps, instead.

Thanks. That I know... I just had a really precise lap time that I was going for for each loop of the park which was around 1.8 km so as long as I could keep doing the mental maths, I knew I was OK :)
