Many workouts don’t add to 150min of exercise per week...

I have a vivoactive 3. I just switched from a forerunner and had a Garmin watch for the past 8+ years.

For some reason my exercises (whether I’m on the tower, bike or strength training or HIIT exercises) will not add to my 150 min of exercise p/ week. The only time my exercises add to my 150 minutes is when I run.

Anyone have experience with this or know if there is a setting that need to be changed. Thanks a bunch!

  • If you speak about Intensity Minutes, then those are not the same as the number of minutes of your exercises.

In order to earn intensity minutes credit, you must reach or exceed 10 consecutive minutes where your heart rate is elevated above the threshold that is considered moderate intensity. Performing a more vigorous activity resulting in a high heart rate can double your credit minutes.

Thanks so much. That’s exactly what I figured it was and the link at the bottom helped me change my zones. I appreciate it.
