Last seven days

Hello.

I  think that the "last seven days" part of the app is useful to understand the average of your behavior in a week: how many steps have you done, how many calories have you burnt, etc.

In my case I look at that part of the app to compare the average calories I've burnt, that are not the same every days, with my daily intake for a balanced diet.

The app to calculate the average uses the last seven days including the current day.

In this way your average changes minute by minute (because the calculation for the current day goes on) and is impossible to know it exactly, if not approximately at the end of the day near midnight.

I think that could be an useful upgrade for the app to calculate the last seven days without considering the current day but stopping with "yesterday".

In this way you have the exact average of your behavior in a week and still you have the current day behavior in the main part of the app.

I think also that changing that should not be too hard from a technical point of view.

Please let me now if you agree.

Many thanks

Federico

  • It is unlikely anyone from Garmin would see your suggestion here. You better use the form at https://www.garmin.com/forms/ideas/. In the meanitime you can use the some of the many Progress Summary Reports, in the mode "Custom Dates", where you can set the starting and the ending date as you wish.

  • I can't believe there aren't more people commenting on this? It's clearly a flaw in the system and they've allowed this to go on years?? I recently started using the 7 day average for calories and I just realized that the numbers I've been using are way lower because it has been taking into consideration "today" which is SIGNIFICANTLY bringing down the 7 day average. How has no one else noticed that and fixed it already???!?

Someone please fix this!!!As it is today the 7 days report is useless!!!

  • I agree.  I look at the Average Remaining calories for the last 7 days and it skews it for today as nothing has been logged from a nutrtional perspective.
