I have a suggestion, to add a feature that appears on activity screen in watch before starting an activity and asks you what gear you will choose to train with. For example: "Would you run with the default shoes or you would like to choose another shoes" Or "Would you ride with the default bike or you would like to choose another bike?"
that feature spare you to login and edit\change the gear (from default) you used each activity
