Why was total time in power zone 7 not summarized correct when attached file was uploaded to Garmin Connect?
I spent 7,5 min in power zone 7 but when I login to Garmin Connect it says 3 sec.
It is summarized correct when transfered to Strava.
My power zone 7 starts at 322 watts.

  • Similar problem here. My zone 7 starts at 405 and instead of reading >405 it's reading 405 - 293 and contains no time/data, even though I definitely spent time over 405 watts. Zone 7 is not user adjustable so seems like a bug to me. Edge 1030 with Vector 3 power meter. Not sure if it's related, but power overlay on the map for the activity also not working on Connect Web, but okay on the app.

I also use Garmin Edge 1030 together with Vector 3 power meter. Maybe it is a bug for that specific combo? It is very strange Strava can  summarize the power zones correct using the same data. Training Peaks is also working.

    • Strangest thing is that  the power zones are summarized correct if I export the data from Gamin Connect Web using .tcx format and then import the file againRolling eyes But then training effect is missing.
  • Does your zone 7 say "> 322" when you hover over it on Garmin Connect Web or does it show a non-sensical range like mine ( before you import via .tcx)?

It says 323-327 on the web, but in Garmin Connect on my phone it says >322. Very strangeRolling eyes

  • Something I noticed which may be contributing to the problem. The configuration of the zones on my Edge 1030 is not set the same as on Garmin Connect. On my Edge 1030 (the physical device, not the 'device settings' in Garmin Connect), when I navigated to My Stats-->Training Zones-->Power Zones-->Configuration, it was set to '9 Coggan iLevels' not '7 Zones'. Perhaps that is messing the categorization of the zones (9 versus 7) up? Anyway, I've changed it to '7 Zones' and will go for a ride later to see if the 'Time in Zones' populates properly and report back.

I also checked my power zone setup on my edge device after my ride today  and it was also set to use 9 zones instead of 7. I also changed it to 7. Hopefully problem is solved nowSlight smile I also noticed my zone 7 was set too low before. It should start at 375(150% of FTP)   We will see after next ride if everything is summarized correct. Thank you for your inputSlight smile

  • Yep, that worked for me after my latest ride today. "Time in Zones" Zone 7 is now reading ">405" and the power map overlay is also working now.  Seems like a bug to me that the two power zone settings aren't aligned between the device and Garmin Connect, but maybe there is an explanation as to why you would want that? Anyhoo, hopefully that solves your problem as well. Cheers.

  • I haven't tried it yet but my Edge 830 is set to 9 and Connect to 7 so fingers crossed thanks all for sorting this one Thumbsup
