I noticed that when I check my maps with Garmin Connect Web (Windows 10 laptop with Chrome browser), My open water swim routes go from my location in Madison, WI, to somewhere off the west coast of Africa, near the Gulf of Guinea. That's a long swim which I definitely couldn't complete in 1-1/2 hours. When I check this activity on my Android smartphone, it correctly shows the map/route in my local lake.
Why is the map/route messed up on Garmin Connect Web?
I also track my kayaking activities on the lake. Since my Swim 2 watch doesn't include kayaking as an activity, I tried just setting it to open water swimming. Then after completing, I'd edit the activity to show kayaking/paddling. That also shows the messed up route to Africa. So before kayaking, I tried setting my watch to running. With it set to running, the map/route on both Garmin Connect Web and my Android smartphone are correct.
