Walks not tallied in weekly challenge

  • Depends on the challenge. Distance challenge or steps challenge?  Was this a treadmill walk or an outdoor GPS walk. Can you share a link to a walk that didn't get added?

  • It was the step challenge for an outdoor hike.  The first there of four days did not apply the number of steps.  The fourth day was back to normal, applying the number of steps.  I may have ‘played’ with the settings.  Would like to know for future.

Another question.  The mileage and step count seems to continue when stopping for breaks/lunch.  This distorts accuracy.  Is there a way to adjust this function?

    thanks

  • For some strange reason Garmin decided Hikes are a separate category than Walks, and hence you won't get any Walk badges for Hike Activities. Change type of the Hike Activities to Walk, and it shold work.

Steps are counted all day long, regardless whether any activity is active or not, hence pausing or stopping the activity will have no impact on the step counter. Pausing works for the GPS-measured distance. In the same way, you also need a GPS device to get most of the outdoor badges, so if you own a device without GPS, you cannot get them.
