"Best pace" slower than "average pace" on Vivoactive 3 Music??

I just did an interval workout and for each of the run segments, my "best pace" is recorded as a slower pace than my "average pace," in Garmin Connect. For example, one of the segments shows an average pace of 6:32 and a "best pace" of 7:36. Also, the pace graph never goes up to anything faster than 7:17 pace for the whole run, so how could I have a whole interval with an average pace of 6:32? That doesn't make sense. Is there something wrong with my watch? Or something wrong with Garmin Connect? I'm not sure whether to trust my "average pace" for each of the intervals?

If you are not sure, verify it. Pace is time in minutes divided by distance in given time. For example if one interval is 2.5km long and you did it in 15 minutes, your pace is 15/2.5 = 6 min/km

Yeah, I did check it that way - using a pace calculator it seems my "average pace" is correct, at least assuming the distance recorded is correct. I'm just not sure what's going on with the "best pace" data and the pace graph.
