cannot add weight value on midnight (0:00)

Hello,

Using connect web application (ver. 4.34.2.0, 20.18.0.122) to track my weight daily, I find out that adding a value on midnight (0:00) is impossible. After putting weight, date, and time as 0:00, I pushed save button, but the dialog would not close. It seems no signal is sent to the server. When changed time to 23:45 or 0:15, it went fine.

Is there any check routine if the time is 0:00 or not, and if there is, do you keep 0:00 value from being registered as a legit one? If so, please fix as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Why do you want to register your weight exactly on midnight? Why not 1 minute before or after or any other time of the day? Are you looking for bugs?

  • Why can't I? There are only four minute values to choose, either 00, 15, 30, or 45. If I measure my weight between 23:53 minute and 00:07 minute, it is quite natural to choose 00:00 instead of 23:45 or 00:15. I'd rather choose 00:01 or 23:59 if it gets through, but the Connect won't allow me to do so. I did not try to find a bug.

In my opinion, 15 minute gap is too rough. I want it to be 5 minute and it used to be so until this Feb. Why did they change it to make things worse?

  • Are you really weighting you each 5 minutes during all the night and day? Simply use whatever time is the closest to the true time you take the weight. It is a non-issue. If they changed it, most likely it was because the time 0:00 is ambiguous - by some it can be understood to belong still to the previous date (24:00), while for others it is already the coming day. So, excluding the time makes sense for avoiding any ambiguity

I cannot see a reason to have this fixed. When your weight is that important for you why don't you buy the Garmin Scale. It will connect and transfer your data automatically. I think the change you have 00:00:00 will be very little. Good luck with you measurements :).

  • No, I do not measure each and every 5 minutes. I measure only one time during a day, but the problem is the time is not fixed at all. Sometimes it is at midnight, sometimes at 22:00, sometimes 2:00, or 5:00.

If you say "use whatever time is the closest to the true time you take the weight" then why not let me choose just 0:00 instead of 23:45 or 0:15 when I actually measured exactly at 0:00? And there is "0:00" entry in the drop down. Why not let the users use it? What's the point of putting "0:00" in there where actually no one can select it?

  • Measuring weight is not so important. Your reasoning does not explain why they changed the thing previously available to unavailable one. I simply want the old feature back. Why does my issue bother you if you do not measure or do not care about it?

What I want to hear here is not mumbles from other users who do not have any issue on this. All I want to hear is Garmin's direct or indirect response to this.

  • All I want to hear is Garmin's direct or indirect response to this.

In that case you need to call Garmin. This is a user forum.

  • No, this is the only forum run by Garmin open to its users as well, not any forum run by Garmin fan.

I came here only by following links shown by Garmin.

You as a Garmin user can respond to it, but the right to response is not limited to its users.

Won't you just stop nagging and shut up if you do not have any positive suggestion for this issue, please?

  • Won't you just stop nagging and shut up if you do not have any positive suggestion for this issue, please?

This is a positivie suggestion. You won't be heard here because Garmin does not monitor the forum. The forum is on Garmin's server but its purpose is clearly defined in its title: "A dedicated community for Garmin users to ask questions, provide answers, and share feedback."

So, I am trying to help you to get heard by Garmin - either request the feature at https://www.garmin.com/forms/ideas/, or speak to Garmin directly through one of the several communication channels Garmin offers at https://support.garmin.com/. It is not necessary to turn offensive to someone trying to help you.

  • Whatever, now the web application accepts all available time with one minute step including 0:00.

    My problem has been solved.

    Case closed.
