Ideas on how to record lawn mowing?

I don't see a way to do this, certainly not without an app. In fact I tried the Work+ ( https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/2d85408c-e792-474f-b2f4-20ad2d23b806 ) app, but it required an annual license. I did not like it enough to pay every year.

I also tried the "Any Activity" ( https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/473ff17b-23e3-4bc0-9071-ced48cf202b6 ) app, but it doesn't know lawn mowing. In fact, the app description says, "The activity list is ALL of the valid activities in the FIT file format. No other activities can be added, that's not how it works unfortunately."

So it makes me think Work+ is just forcing the activity as an "Other" activity, and modifying the text/description for me. Does that make sense?

Anyway, any suggestion on how to record my mowing activities would be great.

See this thread: Would you be able to include a cutting the grass activity in Cardio please; you could then subset by asking if an electric, petrol or handpush mower is being used.

Well, we won't help you with the mowing self, and neither Garmin will, but the tips how to record it as an Activity, can be found in the thread linked in the post just prior yours.

I logged it as a bike ride to see how it would log mowing with arms extended and no walking arm motion, similar to a shopping cart. It gave me credit for calories (636) and miles (2.05) but not steps. I may use this again since I've never found a way to get the steps logged consistently. The gps sketch of my resulting cycling route was interesting to look at as well lol.

To get credit for steps, I put the watch in my pocket. That way the accelerometer will sense the walking motion.
