Sleep Goals

Can't reach sleep goal of less than 8 hour window.  I hard stop and rise at the same time every day on work nights (7.5) but want to see how accurate that is while I sleep and if I am, in fact, realistically sleeping.

I KNOW it is tracked hour by hour but if I set 7.5 as my goal, I want to know MY goal is met, not THEIRS!!!

It is medically proven that 8 hours is no longer the "norm" or target and dependent upon a variety of factors... So, this algorithm needs to be updated!!!

  • Reiterating the issue of not being able to edit the sleep goal from 8hrs. It is very frustrating.

this has been raised as an issue for years

  • Editing the sleep goal is a must !

  • I noticed there are a lot of users complaining about this.

I have just moved over from Samsung to Garmin and can't believe there is no way to personalize a user's sleep goal?

We are in the 21st century and no one really sleeps a full 8 hours.  The quality of sleep is what matters, which is tracked. Thus users should be able to change their sleep goal as they wish?

Makes me feel like I should of rather bought the Samsung.

Garmin, please look at fixing this, as all the competitors out there allow for sleep goals to be edited by users !!!!!!!!

  • seriously the difference of a 30 year old to a 40 year old is evidence enough how lame and stupid Garmin's way of dealing with this is. f'ing lazy ass programming. it's inane.

  • Sleep goals should be an editable feature, If you've been at 7.5 hours for 3 years, it is unlikely you are going to adapt based on outdated software, Outside of that, the product is good,  That is one reason it stands out as making me feel the coming is not user driven.

  • Many experts (individuals and institutions: Harvard Medical, etc) agree that 8 hrs is a very good goal for most people. But.. many also mention that for some people 7 or even 6 or less it’s plenty.
in my opinion , GARMIN should not pre define 8 as the golden standard, each of the USERS should be able to set their own GOAL (like many other apps and devises)

Ive had pretty good night sleep a many  times just to get a Fair or Bad score, which impacts the overall health and readiness status for the day.
    any thoughts????

  • Just bought my 1st Garmin and love it until I'm finding out we can't change the sleep goal.  8 hours is no longer the the norm for good health!!!  Frustrating!  Disappointed and now I'm not sure I bought the right product!
