Only part of track showing on map

I downloaded several gpx tracks from www.cirkwi.com and tried to import them to Garmin Connect Web. No technical problems on importing but only a very small (the first) part of the tracks is shown on the map. Other applications (for example Osmand) showed the complete tracks on the map.

I opened one of the .gpx files in a text editor and found out that multiple track segments  '<trkseg> ......... </trkseg>'  seem to be the problem in Garmin Connect. After removing all <trkseg> and </trkseg> from the text except for the very first <trkseg> and the very last </trkseg> in the file, saving as .gpx and importing this newly created .gpx file to Garmin Connect, the complete track is shown on the map.

Is there a way to show the complete track on the map in Garmin Connect without having to edit the .gpx file?

  • Rather late reply, but I found this question today because I had he same problem. Your method worked for me, but I agree it is not ideal. Of course, I used the "Find and Replace All" function of the editor (after "protecting" the first <trkseg> and the very last </trkseg> by renaming them manually), but for multiple .gpx files this is not an easy solution.

After some trying, I found another approach that works: open the .gpx file in QMapShack and save as .tcx (the proprietary Garmin format). This is imported and shown completely in Garmin Connect.
