GPS accuracy didn’t have me on the trail I rode

The track the gps has on the map doesn’t match up to the trail I rode. Am I able to drag/edit the map to correspond with the trail? It doesn’t match up on Strava now and doesn’t track my time to compare to other attempts. Thanks for your help!

  • Which Garmin device do you have?

    Old Garmin edge 510

Not easily. You would need to export the file to an external tool for editing GPS tracks, fix it there, delete the original, and then import the modified file back to Garmin Connect. Probably not worth of the effort, it may be quicker and simpler doing another ride Slight smile

If you really want to do it, you can try it for example with plotaroute.com that can handle also the Garmin native FIT file format, not only GPX, and TCX files. Though, I do not remember whether it preserves all the other data like HR, speed, temperature, cadence, etc. If not, it would be even more compicated - you'd need to use the GPX format, editing the GPS cordinates in it, while preserving the remaining data.
