Pedal Smoothness & Torque Effectiveness

So this is pretty weird.

Got some Assioma Duos (love 'em) using an Edge 1000 for the head unit. Cycling Dynamics does not work on the 1000. Oh well. However, pedal smoothness & torque effectiveness was reported on Garmin Connect under the Stats-Power column. Well that's something.

Flash forward a couple months.

The 1000 basically died (after ~6 years of good service) so I replaced it with an 830 which does have cycling dynamics available for the Duos. Sort of. Power phase and position is available, but not PCO. That's fine.

Now here's the weird part.

1)  L/R balance with the 1000 always showed/recorded an average 50/50 (this varied between 49/51 to 51/49 over 5 mile splits). For the 830 it's typically around 53/47 (variation over 5 mile splits: 53/47 to 56/44, always higher on the left).

2) PS and TE no longer show up for 830 rides.

# 1 concerns me because I don't know what to trust. # 2 concerns me because I want to see those results.

Any thoughts out there?

Update: OK, I'm a bit of a boob. There's a switch for TE/PS on the 830 and the default is off. Doh! That resolved the Garmin Connect problem.

I also forgot to change the crank arm length on the 830 from 172.5 (default) to 175 (mine). I don't know if that is the problem with the L/R issue, but a 1 mile test ride gave me 51%/49%. I did find out that the Asioma mobile app has a tool that allows you to check if they are truly balanced (very cool).  I've got a long ride tomorrow -- we'll see. If there's still a major imbalance, I'll do the app analysis. If that's good, I guess I need to work on my right leg...
