Just got a forerunner 45. Made a custom workout in Connect but unable to upload as it says workout not compatible with device. What constitutes a compatible workout?

Have a look at the Support document Which Workout Type in Garmin Connect Is Compatible With My Garmin Watch?

Thanks! I did, and followed the instructions to make a custom workout using the app. But despite being synced the app would not accept the watch as compatible for upload.

And did you really selected the type Running or Cycling at the workout you created? As far as I see the FR45 is not compatible with any other type.

My FR45 is not letting my Garmin connect app to upload a custom running workout!!

Yep I have the FR45 - sorry I don't return to this site often. Still trying to figure it out. This is a stupid imitation that doesn't make sense. Maybe Garmin patrols this site and would reply?

If you come here once in 10 months, then you would not see the answer anyway. You can also contact them directly at support.garmin.com. However, if you are trying to send any other type than a Running or a Cycling workout to your FR45, then it will not work, regardless whether you speak to Garmin or not.
