Garmin, please provide a spreadsheet style editing interface for recorded activities

There are multiple possible technical solutions for a range of use cases. These include:

  1. Download all activities as a spreadsheet, perhaps with some fingerprinting to ease re-upload replacement.
  2. Provide a spreadsheet-style GUI to edit activities while keeping the data within Connect cloud.
  3. Others that I have not thought of.

The sorts of use cases that are not currently adequately provided for include:

  1. Go back over all my cycling activities and find the ones with no gear (bike) associated. Select the gear for each of these.
  2. Find all the activities with a specific activity type and change the type.
  3. Find outlier values in fields like cadence>200 , heart rate > 200 (typically some sort of electrical interference) and fix the values.
  4. Find activities with e.g. altitude < 0 or with a variance of 500m from the adjacent points and fix it.

Perhaps you want a flag set on a record to show that it has been manually altered, but I don't care about that.

  • Just a note - this is primarily a user forum, so do not expect Garmin seeing your post here. For feature suggestions use rather the form at https://www.garmin.com/forms/ideas/

Otherwise, some of the features you request are already possible relatively easily:

    1. Currently N/A

    2. For example filtering all Mountain Biking is eaily possible on the main Activities page by clicking the Cycling symbol and then selecting Mountai Biking in the submenu. You can the change the Activity type directly in individual lines of the table, without leaving the list.

    3. Possible in similar way - select cycling add a custom column with Cadence or HR (see the symbol at extreme right of the table header to add/remove columns), then click on the desirec column header to sort by it (one or twice fr reversed sorting), and you have the activities sorted on the way you need for editing them. Open them with a Ctrl-click in a separate tab (to preserve the table in the original tab), edit, save and repeat for all activities needing the change.

    4. You can search activities by Elevation gain in the same way, but otherwise currenly N/A
