Major Miles Bugged

The date range on this challenge is bugged.  Ran my final miles yesterday (June 30) and was not awarded the miles.  When I finished the run the challenge indicated there was 5 or so hours left in the challenge.  I did see where the "days remaining" in the challenge detail seemed to be off, but I didn't think much of it.  Whenever I checked on the challenge status the "days remaining" would terminate days before June ended.

I tried pushing back my June 30th run to the morning to see if it was an hour thing - no luck.  I had to push it back a couple days and the miles counted and badge was awarded.

Looks like the same error is going to occur in July as the major miles challenge runs from July 1 - July 31, but there are only 29 days left in the challenge.  Seems like that should be 31, right?

  • For my challenge it says "July 1 to July 31 - ends in 30 days".

30 days sounds ok since I'm already on day 1 and I got 30 more days to complete the challenge. It is just a matter of definition. But 29 days is just wrong no matter how you define it (unless today is July 2 where you. Like in parts of Australia, New Zeeland...)

Could it be a timezone setting?

I'm on Central European Summer Time (GMT+2).

Worked all right for me in June, and seems to be fine in Jule too - today (the 1st), it tells "ends in 30 days" in GC Mobile. In GC Web, I see no counter. Where exactly do you see 29 days left?

Just captured this.  I'm not terribly worried about it since I have a work around, but I would have been pretty deflated with 95.6 miles in June and not getting credit for that June 30th run.

  • Captured this on my phone after I changed the date to July 3. Check the date setting on your phone and see if that is the issue.

Confirmed Wednesday, July 1. 9:30 AM. Central Time Zone (US).

  • Likely indeed a bug with time zone settings as  initially wrote. However, as you saw, it is not a major problem, because you can either complete the Challenge a day earlier, or you can edit the date of the last Run, if there is no other way.

Report it to the Support, so that Garmin is aware of it and can fix it, to avoid another surge of complaints the next month.

I have exactly the same issue, my run was not counted in. It may sound cheesy and unimportant but I hate running and really push myself to do those 3.5 miles every day to complete this challenge and start liking running. I would appreciate if this works well to motivate me rather than disencourage.

  • Just edit the date of the last Activity, and it will be counted all right
