Start course at random point

Hi,

During my last run I experienced that a course which I created through the Garmin Connect online portal, has a fixed start-finish point.

I made a closed loop connecting finishing point where I started drawing the course.

The thing is, on my way to the area, I decided to start somewhere else on the track (better parking conditions).

My watch recognized my position and told me I was on course and I could start the run. But when I crossed the preset starting/finishing point my run ended (the navigation stopped).

So I had to stop, restart the course on my FR245 and then stop the run where I parked my car.

Is it possible to start/stop at any random point within the preset course, and still have correct and full navigation - course support?

thanks,

Pieter

  • No, you can't go near the finish point since that might end the course. I haven't tried exactly when it ends the course but it has happened a couple of times when I've started a course and are on my way to the starting point.

Just start the course again after you moved away from the finish point and you will get routing support again.

You don't have to stop the activity. Just select the course again and start it.
