Garmin Connect and MFP not connecting?

I have a vivoactive 3 I’ve been using with MFP for a number of months with no issues.

Recently I am having issues getting MFP and Garmin Connect to reconnect and sync. They were not sharing information properly so I disconnected them as recommended online. When I tried to reconnect I received the error message stating that there is a temporary error in syncing the two accounts and to try again later.

I’ve tried reconnecting multiple times via the apps and websites and keep receiving this same error message. This has been the case for WEEKS now (so much for a temporary issue?)

  • When this happens, likely you need to reestablish the connection between Garmin and MFP

    • Go to MFP apps page https://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps
    • Under "Your Apps" click on Garmin, then click Disconnect
    • Go to Garmin Connect Web https://connect.garmin.com/modern/
    • Look at your Daily Summary page, scroll down then click on Disconnect from MyFitnessPal
    • Log out of Garmin Connect Web
    • Go back to MFP apps page https://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps
    • Click on the "Get" by Garmin Connect, you'll be taken back to Garmin Connect Web
    • Click on Connect to MyFitnessPal, then accept the agreement and authorization

    Yes, as I said, when I try to reconnect them (using the steps you’ve given) I’m receiving an error message telling me to try again later.

  • As part of creating the directions for you, I had no issues disconnecting then reconnecting from the MFP and Garmin Connect web sites using Chrome on my desktop computer. I'm not using the app or my phone.

    Again, as I said, I’ve tried reconnecting them both via the apps and web pages. I’ve tried on my phone, iPad and via desktop and I’m receiving the same message every time that there is an error syncing them and they’re not reconnecting. They are currently disconnected so I’m stuck at step 6 of your suggested steps and have been for weeks now. I appreciate your suggestions but it’s nothing I haven’t already found online and tried which is why I’ve posted here.
