I had the same problem. If that was a thing that needed to be done, it should have been made more clear.

How could it be made more clear? If Garmin reads this (doubtful) it would be good to understand where it wasn't clear in your opinion.

Guess I did not take the "Join this challenge" part literally. Thought I could just run first and sync.

That's called "natural selection". Only those properly paying attention to the detail, got the badge. At least it makes it a more precious collectioner trophy

That's fine, but "Join the Challenge" sounds more like an invitation to me than a literal task. It's fine if that's the case, I know now. Being a somewhat new user to navigating this, clearer info would have helped

Try editing the Activity, changing a minor detail (i.e. adjusting the Percieved Effort, or adding a Calorie), and saving.

And did it work when you did that?

I have been suffering with the same problem. I just tried doing what you said, about editing the activity and, BINGO, it worked!  :-)
