Separating the stats for running and walking

I take 30-second or 1-minute walk breaks during my runs. After a run I'd like to know my average running pace, and (less importantly) my average walking pace. Is this possible in Garmin Connect? If not, maybe there's a Connect IQ app to do it? My device is a 920xt. Thanking you in advance!

  • Mark the intervals as laps (enable and use the lap button on the watch). The pace for each interval will be then shown on the tab Laps of the respetive Activity.

Edit: you could also try the Interval mode of the Running activity. It is available on most Garmin watches. I did not test it yet, but it is well possible it marks the laps automatically, so all you need to do, is respecting the intervals the watch is giving you.

  • I was hoping to avoid the hassle of pressing the lap button every time - I'd not always remember. But using the intervals function is a good idea. Thank you. I'll give it a try. (Why didn't I think of that?)
