60 day goal getter

I've noticed a few people (completely fit and healthy) dropping their daily step goal to around or below 1000 steps a day inorder to get this repeatable 8 pointer. Garmin, does this not render the points levels completely pointless (no pun intended) as it can be cheated so easily? Surely this would be better with auto-goal targets? Or working out your actual fitness level and then giving you an automatic static range?

I'm all for more repeatables but this just takes the ****!
