  • yeah we get it. i got 5k steps yesterday tracked by my iphone and android when i wore a different watch. if we can edit distance if we forgot to start the gps, we should be able to edit steps, garmin

  • I just got a Garmin vivofit Jr 3 cause it's cute and I got a discount on my Garmin app. Now you tell me it's no good cause I can't get its steps into the Garmin app? Useless!  Very unhappy customer.

  • I can't get its steps into the Garmin app?

There is the Garmin Jr. app that was designed to be used with the Vivofit Jr 3 watch.

  • Yeeesss, but I want to keep all my steps in one place.  And all the other answers for entering manually state "you have to use a garmin device that counts steps. " both things are true of my vivofit jr 3 but still I can't get the steps in.

    Still pissed customer

  • Yeah, but what's ironic is that Garmin knows what my stride length is. And I can enter in an activity for X miles but it won't then calculate the necessary number of steps for said distance.

Like when I mow the grass, I can record a walking activity to capture the miles - which is done with GPS so it's fairly accurate and trusted. But because my arms don't sway, I don't get any credit.

That's baffling to me that it's not calculating the # of steps in a walking activity with no steps recorded since it knows the distance and my stride length. This software does far more complex calculations and algorithms.

  • You seem very knowledgeable about the contractual obligations of Garmin to insurance companies. Are you a legal representative of Garmin? Our Startwell program with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield actually allows manual input of steps by participants due to inclusion clauses, ie, some groups may not have as much disposable income as others and the Startwell program does not provide a fitness tracker. I have two. A vivoactive which I use one for a watch. I have a very physical, fast paced job so the other is used for activity tracker. I recently noticed that my activities are being duplicated due to Vivoactive recognizing some of my movements as running. The steps aren't being duplicated as far as I can tell. Just seems Garmin could fix this issue so I don't have to go back and remove these activities. On top of that, they aren't in the regular activities, but in a random area. I only noticed because I was looking at annual totals.

  • I wear mine around my ankle because well, that's where steps occur. I don't want to walk around doing exaggerated arm swings.
