Is there a way of manually entering steps recorded on a pedometer into my Connect database record?

My Forerunner 230 died yesterday (the display face fell off the main housing, pulling the ribbon cable off the motherboard). While I am waiting for its' replacement, I'm using an Omron pedometer (no connectivity - it only records steps very well)  to record steps for activities and over full days. Is there a way of manually entering the steps recorded on the pedometer into my Connect database record? This is a temporary expedient, but I don't want to break my streak of 10000-step days as recorded in the Connect database.

  • Garmin will not allow any manual editing of daily steps or activity minutes, because they are bound by policies of insurance agencies who often use the step and intensity minutes data from fitness trackers for calculating benefits in health insurance. You have to track the steps with a Garmin device.

Ok, thanks trux. I had absolutely no idea that insurance could be a factor in this. However, I can and do manually enter activity minutes in the Connect web site. Such is life.

Yes, you can edit activity minutes, but not Intensity Minutes, which is an important difference.

Yes, I understand the difference...the "intensity minutes" metric is one I don't track anyway.

Thanks for the info you've provided...very useful. My new 945 should arrive tomorrow, so the issue will be moot after I start using it.
