Challenge "Major miles" inactive

I joined the "Major miles" challenge, but it's showed like inactive (gray) in the Challenges section of Garmin Connect web page. I run yestarday 10k but they are not recorded in the challenge. Any ideas??

Mine are also grayed out, but the other thing is it doen't count my yesterday activity.. or maybe it needs more time? Any ideas?

  • it doen't count my yesterday activity

Did not you edit it, or enter manually? Anyway, you can try the tips from my previous post.

    Not at all

    Anyway, you can try

I did what you suggest (adding fluid consumed), and it worked! Nice, thank you!

  • I have a similar issue, and I can't get any of your tips to work.

My problem is that I only picked up my VA4 yesterday, and had done a 10k run a couple of days ago using my Gear S3 with Endomondo.  I first tried manually entering the run, then I tried importing from Endomondo.  I was given the 10k badge for the run in Garmin Connect, but the distance won't be added to Major Miles.

Missing that 10k will mean I'm gonna have to run 170km this month, and even 160km is going to be difficult for me, so any other suggestions for a solution would be much appreciated!

  • Can you post a link to the activity? Make sure it is public so we can look at it.

  • It might be the device even if you got another badge without a Garmin device. Different badges got different requirements and the 10k badge is an old one so they might not work the same as the new ones.

I would test and change the device with this tool: https://www.fitfiletools.com/#/changer#view

Download the fit file by clicking the cog wheel in the upper right corner of the activity. Choose Export original. A zip file is downloaded. Extra that zip file. Go to https://www.fitfiletools.com/#/changer#view and select your fit file, select a Garmin Device, ex. Garmin fr935, click Go. Download the new fit file. Before you import it to Garmin Connect you have to delete the original activity otherwise the importer will refuse. After that you can import your new fit file: fitfiletools.fit. Click the cloud icon in the upper right corner (next to your profile picture) and follow the instructions for how to import.

  • Thanks for that. I'm beginning to think it might just be easier to run the 10k at this stage!

Because I had imported my run via .gpx from Endomondo, exporting the original file just gave me this file. The only way I could get a .fit file is if I create a manual activity.  I tried doing this, then used the fitfiletools to set the device as a VA3M (VA4 isn't listed) and then imported.

Unfortunately the run still isn't counting to my Major Miles distance, but thanks for your help all the same.  I'll keep messing around and see if I can get something to work.

  • Ok. That is why it says "Export original" instead of "Export to FIT". I've always thought it was strange, but now I understand it. Maybe there is some tool that can convert from GPX to FIT, but I haven't tried any.

10k isn't that much if you spread it out in the coming 26 days. Just 385 meter extra per day...if you run every day... :-)

Perhaps a stupid question, but I have to ask it anyway: did you already join the Major Miles Challenge?
