Corrupt Fit file

I completed a 7+ hour ride and Edge 820 switched to battery save mode before I ended the ride so when I saved the ride somehow file isn't readable.

Please can anyone help to recover the file?

Many thanks in advance.

hi, sorry to hear about your mishap

you are going to solve this one Slight smile

run your file through Fit File Tool's section remover (without removing)

import this fit file manually from within Garmin Connect Web

when this fails and it wil not fail....

with your consent we can have a look at your file with FitFileRepairTool

zip the fit file and upload here in the forum

or provide a link to it on a cloud storage

    or send it via pm

    happy & safe sporting

    Hi OnlyTwo,

I managed to recover the file so thank you! However all segments appear lost so is there a way to recover the file including the segments when uploading to Strava?

    Thanks.

Fit File Tools repair is de most non destructive that I know of, maintaining the original data.

Have no knowledge about segments or Strxxx.

Otherwise you can do as proposed in the first reply.

Or is it the latest Strxxx (non)payed user closing up ?

    All sorted.

I am already a paid Strava user so that wasn't an issue - fair assumption though as I'm sure the recent changes have caught some people out.

For others out there my issue was that when I manually uploaded the .fit file to Garmin Connect the automatic link to Strava posted it there as a general activity directly and not a "Ride"... I had to go in and edit the activity in Strava to be a ride and then all the GPS data that was already there in the background of the file got mapped immediately to show segments and achievements.

Many thanks again for your help!
