Inaccurate step counts

Recently my Garmin HR is showing inaccurate step count. Example today it show 4 steps and even prompted me to move. I work a 10 hour shift in a hospital and am on my feet constantly. And was even actively moving when it prompted me to move.  This has happened a free times lately. What is going on?  I have an extended warranty, is the a single problem or are others having the same issue.
Thanks

  • Well, you did not tell exactly, but if I assume that you wore the device during 10 hours of your shift, and assuming it was all in the same day (after midnight), and the watch recorded only 4 steps, and assuming your hand with the watch was freely moving, (i.e. not pushing a trolley, cart, rolling chair or similar, all that time), then there is indeed a problem with the device and you should contact the support. I do not remember seeing any similar issue here on the forum.
