“Super Strength” badge not earned despite enough strength activities recorded.

Why have I not earned the “Super Strength” badge despite having recorded more than the required 5 strength activities? I’m using a Garmin Fenix 5x Plus and an iPhone XR. Thanks.

  • I guess, it is the same case as with the Zen badge - although the date 28th April 2020 is given on the badge, in reality only activities from 30th April 2020 and later are counted.

  • I got the Super Strength badge today and my activities were on 29 and 30 April, 3, 4 and 5 May.

    Do a slight edit on your activities and see if that helps. A small name change is enough. Start with the first activity and then the next...

    If you haven't received the badge yet then make your activities public and link them so we can have a look at them.

    Is there any time limit or heart rate level to gain it? For deep breath I have to record at least 30 minutes of meditation.

    For strength I'm recording Cardio activities and then edit the type to Strength (Potenziamento) and add all the relevant repetitions.

    In general, does anybody know if there's any detailed description of requirements for badges?

  • The description under the badge is enough. There are no time limits. It will work with just 1 second of each activity.

    Just log the activity with a Garmin device and make sure you use the correct activity type.

    Not that I care too much, but it does not stop to surprise me what people are able to do just to get those completely virtual badges Smiley OK, I admit, I am an addict too, but at least when I am trying to get some badge, I try to do my best and making a decent workout, not to be ashamed of myself.

    And although I know many tricks how I could get badges I did not deserve, I would not use the tricks to get them, and I would also not publish them on the forum. And I am not quite sure whether it is wise publishing the tips for tricking out the system. If Garmin developers were reactive, and able to make the detection safer upon seeing such tips published, I'd tell the publishing had a positive effect, but seeing people increasingly chasing badges just by fake activites, makes me feel the badges are losing their credibility and their value.

  • For Breathwork I did one of the guided breathwork exercises on my Forerunner 945. For Strength I use the app Seven and do 7 minutes HIIT workouts. For yoga I usually do yoga sessions from Adriene on YouTube. She got lots of free yoga sessions and I find they good for beginners.

    What I usually do every morning is that I do a running or biking workout for 1-2 hours, then at home I do strength in a HIIT workout and then yoga and in the end some breathwork. But that breathwork thing wasn't really my thing and I didn't see the benefits so I've stopped that after doing a serious test with 100 of them.

    I see many of the badges as a way of really testing different exercises and focusing on different areas. It has been 2 months of running focus and now it is biking focus. 

  • If people wants to cheat the system it is up to them. I think they are just cheating themself. Exercising is fun and badges is something that could help you do even more exercising.

    I'm also a software developer and like to test the limits of systems and I always use full transparency and publish what I find but I guess not all people can handle that.

    I am one too, but I learned to report security holes to the manufacturer first, before publishing them. On the other hand, the weak protection of badges are no true or dangerous security holes, and Garmin would likely do nothing to protect them more anyway, so I can understand your argumentation, though personally I won't participate in promoting such tips.
