Previous Deleted Course Superimposes on New Course

For a while now, when I loaded a course on to Garmin and went to ride it, it was the previous course that loaded. This despite deleting all courses on my Garmin before loading. I managed to overcome this by loading courses direct from my laptop. Now an old course (despite deleting all courses from my Garmin) continues to super-impose itself on the course I want to ride. The result is that two courses appear on the map and it confuses my Garmin which continually tries to re-calculate the route and the navigation is useless.

I have tried going into the files on the Garmin and deleting all old files/courses but this has't worked. All courses have been deleted from my Garmin on multiple occasions but still this old course re-appears like a bad smell and renders my Garmin useless for navigation.

Any help in overcoming this and getting back to being able to use the navigation on my Garmin would be much appreciated!

  • When you speak about "my Garmin", do you refer to your device, or to the Garmin Connect account? And what device exactly do you use? How does the course look like on Garmin Connect Web? Did you try editing or deleting it there too? If not, then it will be synced to your device again.

Thanks for the clarifying questions. 'My Garmin' is my Garmin Edge 1000 device. On Garmin Connect the course looks as it should and there is no need to edit it. I have tried deleting on my Garmin Connect account but still it appears on my device. It is only when I transfer it to my Garmin Edge 1000 and load the course ready to ride that the 'old' course appears merged with the new course.

  • Sorry, I am not familiar with Edge 1000, and most other users on this forum (Garmin Connect Web forum) are not familiar with it either. You'd have a better chance to get helped by somebody knowing your device on the forum of Edge 1000, so I'd recommend asking there instead..
