forerunner 305 will garmin refurbish or repair?

Hello, I first started with Garmin with a Forerunner 205 then upgraded to a Forerunner 305.  Unfortunately got hit by car, so was out of commission quite a while.  When recovered, found my 305 wasnt working well at all....buttons sort of “gummy” and controls not work much at all.

Doesnt Garmin refurbish or repair these devices anymore?  When I emailed them, all the person offered was 20% off “full retail price” off a current device.  (Which is a pretty crummy “deal!”)

  • You could try the Garmin Repair Center to see how far you get. https://my.garmin.com/rma/en-US/repair/repairLanding

The 205/305 were released in 2006. I still have both of mine, but not my daily driver, thank goodness.Wink Not sure if Garmin would even have the parts to refurbish yours. If Garmin does offer to refurbish it, it's likely that the cost will much more than the device is worth. In other words, it's totaled. If you're dead set on getting another 305, I'm seeing them in "used" condition for $3 at online auction sites, if that tells you anything.

That 20% discount is substantial, as you typically don't get discounts on the latest Garmin devices.
