Undo "remove" a gear

By mistake I "removed" a gear (a pair of shoes) instead of "retired" on the Garmin Connect Web. Can this be undone? I want to see the total distance but now I can't.
You can create it again, and have it assign automatically all the past activities of selected type since given date (do not forget to set the right starting date of the gear!). You can manually remove individual activities where you know you did not use that gear.
Just to add to what trux wrote - make sure to check the box "Automatically add to...New activities" for running. You'll get the question whether you want this to be your default gear, but you can click Cancel there to retain your current default gear. However, having clicked New activities you now also get the checkbox asking whether you wish to add this gear to all your existing activities from and since the date of the gear's first use.
