Update OpenStreetMap tiles

Could you update the OpenStreeMap tile renders in Garmin Connect Web? The render you are using is ancient. It hasn't been updated even once while I've been a Garmin device user. The area where I live has changed quite a bit in last few years and the OpenStreetMaps has gotten more accurate also. Sadly none of those changes are available in Garmin Connect.

And the second question is that could you just use the original OSM tile renders instead of your custom theme? The original is much more detailed than yours. It would be very handy for trail runners, hikers, MTB, etc.

    ... strangely, I can still access Haute Garonne in Garmin Connect, using the OpenStreetMaps overlay. Can you see any other region, on your side? Did you already try clearing the cookies and the cache, or using an alternative browser, as I suggested?

    After removing cookies and site data still the same ...

    Strangely it works from CHROME, maybe some sort of cross site information exchange or HTTP in HTTPS context is blocked by FireFox as untrusted.

    It's simple:

    was:

    https://connectosm16.azureedge.net/*

    now:

    http://connectcache20.azureedge.net/*

     

    It's http without s. Change to https and it works.

    Some browsers seem to auto fix it (or maybe something else do it, didn't check thoroughly) as Chrome directs to https and Firefox to http.

    But there is also a good info! They finally updated their really outdated copy of OSM! Wonder if now updates will be more frequent or again this copy stay for years.

    Garmin seems to have updated Openstreemap tiles, so your problem may be related to it.

    Yesterday, I got a mail from Garmin Customer Support telling me OSM tiles were updated. Now, they are new.

    Yes, their copy of OSM was updated, as I wrote above.

    It looked that a number from the URL is a year when a copy was made. But I checked and it's not exact year of OSM data. Current copy miss some changes visible on current original OSM, so after checking what is missing - current copy probably was made few days before the end of 08.2019, as changes from few last days of that month are missing.

    They could just display an exact date when a map was made.

     

    But there is a good info. They already replaced http with https, so it's working again in all browsers.
