Elev gain differences

Hi,

I recently recorded a mountainbike track and the recording in GC says 881 height meters.

Then I stored it as a course, and now it says 1197 height meters in GC.

Can anybody explain where the difference comes from?

I have the same "problem". Created a course with 70,85km and el.gain of 1.147hm, but after recording it with my forerunner 935 it says only 957hm. That's a difference of 190hm.
