2 Garmin devices, 2 different training loads, but only 1 person.

Hi I have a Fenix 5 and an Edge 530. On garmin connect I have different training loads and VO2 Max numbers as if there were for 2 different people. But they are onn the same account, and show side by side, so why can't Garmin align the data and give one number for the individual, rather than the device?

Is there something I am missingin the setup?

Cheers,

Mike

  • Please log a ticket with Garmin’s support team. This is a long-standing problem, that Garmin have dismissed as working “as designed” in the last but recently seem to be acknowledging that’s its bloody stupid and are now promising users that it is being investigated “but no timescale can be provided” for a fix.

The more people log it with their support team, the higher up the priority list it will get.

  • Its been 6 months I have asked the same thing since this is advertised by Garmin:

Physio TrueUp is a feature that lets you switch between compatible devices while keeping the following data in sync:

    • VO2 max

    • Recovery Time*

    • Training Load

    • Race Predictor

I have F6s and Edge 1030 so I would expect to have at least the training load and recovery time synced and same for both device, because its not about device but Person, right? Three days ago I went cycling (1030), yesterday rowing (F6s). Result of the "Physio TrueUp" is 0 Recovery in Edge 1030 and 19 hours in F6s. Training load in Edge 207, in F6s 290. One device says "go training", second "go rest".

So I guess "working as designed".

Good idea. I'll raise a support ticket.

  • I have exactly the same question for my Fenix-6 and Edge-1030. Does anybody know if there any progress made? Thank you - Martin

  • Hi Mike, may I ask you if the Garmin responded to your support ticket? Many thanks - Martin

  • Make sure the Physio TrueUp option is enabled on both devices, and that you are syncing both devices before and after each activity. They then should have the same data.

  • Thank you, Trux - I'll try that!

  • The synchronization even works after running activities with different devices.

Yes, of course, it does, but syncing it before the activity is important as well, since the device you are going to use will get your updated metrics (for example the LTHR, Max HR, VO₂max, HRZ, etc..), which may have influence on the metrics it is going to process during the coming activity. So you really better sync both devices before and after each activity, when switching devices.
