How do you save a cycle course that you have already completed. You can look at the map etc but there seems to no way of saving it in courses?

  • Saving an activity as a course can be done using Garmin Connect Web

Thank you very helpful! Not straight forward as I had to download Garmin Express. Also have an issue (as below "error message" , but the courses seem to be download ok on the watch.

  • How were you syncing your activities prior to this? Personally, I use Garmin Express primarily when I'm charging my device. This will also pull any updates and update the GPS cache. GE is also a good tool for other maintenance tasks. However, for daily activity syncing I'm using the Garmin Connect Mobile app.

Regarding your specific error, there are several discussions with solutions on the Garmin Express forum, such as this post from  Garmin Express broken yet again

Once you've verified that you've synced all your activities to Garmin Connect, it would be a good idea to delete the activity history from the watch. It's possible that there is corrupt data on the watch that is interfering with Garmin Express' ability to sync with Garmin Connect.

Thank you i will try that. Whist you are being so helpful is there any way to sort out the calorie count? For example i go for a walk and it states that i have done over 3k in calories! Also i go on bike ride 23 km and it states 3.5k calories. yet i basically go on the same ride, except i go round one part twice so the overall length is 29km and it comes up with 3.6k in calories!

  • As for the Calories, it would be better to post your question in a separate thread, not to mix two unrelated topics here. Basically there are two parts in the Calories value = the RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate), and the Active Calories that are calculated from the difference between immediate HR and the average resting HR. We would need to see your RMR for the day (on the page Calories In/Out), the HR data of the Activity, and the average resting HR (in Reports) to tell you better where the problem could be. Try launching a new topic and posting the data there.
