I've recently acquired a Garmin Venu device.
I previously had a Samsung Active one (which for fitness purposes is almost garbage) but some of the smartphone features you get used to need to re adapt.
Other then that, I've already suggested to garmin 2 improvements on the connect appilcation that I'd like to share here and make sure its something of common sense (or if its just me that am not used to it):
1) Enable endless repeat movements for activities (such as hikking) that could be added to a run profile and eventually have several pauses that exceeds the 40 count limit;
2) For strength training specifically I'm not quite sure why garmin has hard coded and restricted the naming of exercises but there are A LOT of different variations and also ways to name an exercise. Another thing is that Garmin is US based but sell their products wordwide and that restricts everyone to use english-based exercises (which for me as a Portuguese speaker was a nightmare until I get the correlation in between the names right). I'm assuming Garmin has the exercises on a lock due to the animations or some "expected movement" to be registered from the watch to capture reps and so forth. If that's the case, I'd suggest for them to let a free write of the exercise name but make us correlate it to a base exercise or (which I prefer) the muscle involved (primarily) on that activity. It will be much more efficient and the satisfaction should raise with it (I'm assuming).
Does anyone else have ideas/agree with that?
