Trim activity sets wrong last lap time and distance

Hi,

When trimming my 5.02 KM run to 5.00 KM, the last lap distance wrongly gets set to 0.98km (instead of 1km) and the same for the lap time - 5 seconds extra cut, should be 4.14 sec. You can also see from the picture that the sum does not add up. This happens both when I edit from Garmin connect web and the Android app. I also tried for different activity and this unexpected behavior always happens when I trim to an exact number (e.g. 5.00 km)

  • Yes, indeed. It may be due to the granularity of the data - and the data is cut at the last GPS keypoint of the track just before the 5km, though it is a bug anyway.

I tested it, and a working work-around is using the Distance fields to set the 5.00 km (just as you do now), then switching back to the Time mode and increasing the time by 1s - the total distance remains 5.00 km, but the last lap will have the original values, in this way. I also tried setting the distance to 5.001, but the input is rounded back to 5.00. Using 5.01 leads to a 6th lap of 10m. Incrementing the time by 1s worked without adding the 6th lap.

Consider reporting it to Garmin, since it is not very likely anyone from Garmin spots it here, so it is quite possbile they are not aware of it at all.
