Error in recording run time and map

For the last few longer runs there has been one km where the map shows I have gone way off the trail and done that lap 45

secs faster than all others - today I allegedly swam across a wide river and back and still managed to complete the km in 4:30. Can I go in and edit the map and log a more accurate approx time of 5:15?

You can export the activity for example in TCX file format, edit it manually, and then reimport, but its a lot of work. Or you can simply trim the activity, removing the concerned lap - that's possible directly and comfortably in Garmin Connect Web (see the Trim function after clicking the cogwheel symbol up right on the activity page).

When swimming, you need to keep on mind that the watch cannot receive any GPS signal when the watch is not above the surface. Activating GPS+Glonass may help acquiring sufficent signal from satellites better and quicker than with GPS alone. If you use to change swim styles, consider wearing the watch under the swim cap.
